Tabac Original shaving soap produces a luxurious lather to ensure an easy, comfortable shave with no irritation. Tabac Original is classified as a sharp, spicy, floral fragrance. This masculine scent features a blend of lavender, citrus, and warm florals. Tallowate Formula.

Made by Mäurer & Wirtz in Germany since 1959.

How to use

Apply either with or without a shaving brush. With a brush, simply work the top of the soap with a wet (not soaking) shaving brush until the bristles are 'loaded' with shaving soap. Now apply the soap to the areas to be shaved. Always use strong circular movements as this softens the hairs and also raises them ready for shaving. Without a brush, wet the stick and apply directly to face then use hands to lather. Again use a firm pressure and circular motion. In both scenarios wait for 20 seconds after applying and then razor off. Afterwards, rinse the face thoroughly. NB. We would recommend use with a brush.

Mom, I love you. And thank you so much for the Christmas gift. 2021 was the year I got into wet shaving and 2022 was the first year I tried Tabac in stick form.

I wanna start with thanking maguires barbershop for providing this authentic product and anything don’t has tallow it means not authentic soap formula for the old timers….the price the shipping the care is perfect I have to admit they cost a little less than Amazon and it’s tallow so you really can’t beat that. I to be honest did find some other great deals on other stuff they have but I have a good stock of them for now so I will definitely will be buying again from you guys because I’m happy with your service. And as far for tabac look if you don’t get it now then if it’s gone forget about it and good luck finding anther for me I have over decades of tallow based and for the next decade or actually two I’m thankful to maguires barber.

Tabac should be everyone’s standard how how a soap should be it performs incredibly well like it always does and it’s very dependable also if you have sensitive skin like I do it’s good for my skin. I find it even smells amazing though some will disagree give this soap a try and once you go Tabac you’ll never go back.

Lives up to its reputation

Trying Tabac was on my to-do list simply because it's discussed online a lot. Ultimately I found it incredibly easy to get a great a lather with and it's one of the best soaps I've used. I went for the shaving stick version and the packaging is excellent: it comes in a solid plastic push up tube. I wish all shaving sticks were packaged like this. I can understand why the scent is polarising. It's undoubtedly masculine and I'd suggest on the spicy/floral side but distinctly a soapy smell. I'd say most will have come across a similar old fashioned soap in the past. However, I found the scent goes in to the background during the shave. I'd recommend this especially to those who haven't used a shaving soap before or those whose experiences with soaps haven't been the best.
