Product Overview

Simpsons Colonel X2L Best Badger Shaving Brush

Product

The Simpsons Colonel X2L Best Badger Hair Shaving Brush is a 'military design' reminiscent of the brushes issued to the Armed Forces durng the Great World Wars. Simpsons shaving brushes are world famous for their superior quality and for being entirely handmade in England. They are thought by many to be the very best in the world. Packed full of Best Badger Hair, this brush will provide many years of faithful service as well as going a long way to helping you achieve the perfect shave. A taller format, this superior shaving brush will exfoliate the skin and lift and soften the beard prior to shaving. A dense loft of excellent grade Best Badger hair which provides a firm yet soft brush perfect for both soaps and creams and good exfoliation of the skin prior to shaving. The loft has fabulous water retention to ensure a luxurious lather.  A substantial handle, tapered in design with a stylish turned ring around the mid-point. The handle tapers again to the base which has a subtle flare to perfectly finish off the classic look. A lathe turned pure resin handle with a 'faux ivory' finish reminiscent of the most traditional of shaving brushes. Simpsons have been producing handmade shaving brushes in England since 1919, they fully deserve their reputation as the world's premier shaving brush manufacturers.

All Simpson Brushes are Hand Made in Isle of Man, British Isles.

How to use

The brush bristles should be wet (not soaking) before use. Load the loft with soap or cream and apply to the areas to be shaved, using a strong circular motion. This softens the hairs and also raises them ready for shaving.

We strongly recommend the following aftercare for your brush; When finished always rinse the brush under hot water (especially at the base of the bristles) to remove any remaining soap residue which can result in damage to the bristle and cause early shedding of the loft. The brush should then be stored loft facing down to dry. This can be achieved by using a shaving brush stand and prevents the bristles rotting at the base due to moisture.

Recommended for

Both shaving creams and shaving soaps and all skin types.

Grooming tip

Whilst taking a shower soak your shaving brush in hot water. When you are finished your shower, both your stubble and brush will be ready for a shave!

    A great brush

A really nice brush, this, with a loft dense enough (not quite like the Chubby 2 - which is fabulous!) to provide a good backbone. I have found it equally at home with soaps & creams, producing an extremely good creamy lather. This may sound stupid, but the ergonomics of the handle are such that one can drive it round one's face with consummate ease! It's nowhere near the cost of the Chubby 2, but this is one brush I would be happy to use every day - except when I'm using the Chubby!
